When it comes to rivers & streams in the United States, agriculture is by far the most prevalent source of water contamination. Pesticides, fertilisers, and animal waste, among other things, may pollute streams when they are carried away by rainwater and deposited in waterways. Nutrient pollution from agriculture is another source of eutrophication in marine ecosystems, which is caused by nutrient pollution. Wastewater from metropolitan areas contributes to pollution in addition to other sources. Wastewater is described as water that has been utilised by commercial and industrial sources but has become polluted and has returned to the environment after being treated. If the water is not properly cleansed by processing facilities but then returns to our seas, streams, or rivers, it has the potential to pollute the environment and cause pollution. Algal blooms arise as a result of an excess of nutrients and a lack of oxygen in the environment. Due to a lack of plant growth in the sector, which supplies oxygen as well as a food supply for other species, this not only stops them from occupying the area but also inhibits them from growing there in the first place. Additional hazards include the contamination of animals that may be ingested by people due to chemical contaminants. The impacts of water pollution may also be visible in the amount of physical garbage that accumulates in the ocean. Industrial garbage, including such fishing nets and other industrial debris, has a negative influence on marine life on a regular basis.
